What is SaaS?
Software as a Service, also known as SaaS, is a way to make software and technological solutions available through the Internet, as a service. The concept behind this acronym is the optimization of resources. That is, instead of investing in infrastructure, equipment and maintenance teams, and still bear all the additional costs, hiring a SaaS service allows companies to direct their resources to what really matters: business processes.
With this model, the company doesn’t have to worry about installing and updating both hardware and software. Access is simple and only an Internet connection is required. Service providers will be in charge of managing logins, and keeping the data security framework, connectivity, and all servers required for a proper operation of the tools.
What are the benefits of hiring a SaaS platform?
Accessibility: As the platform is located in the cloud, it can be accessed from any computer or mobile device, wherever and whenever it will be needed.
Maintenance: When choosing a Software as a Service solution, the company won’t have to hire local support to handle platform bugs, as problems will be handled remotely by the service provider.
Upgrade: The platform supplier manages any occasional updates and upgrades – which eliminates the need, for the company, to download or install applications.
Saving: In the case of software contracted as a service, the company doesn’t have to worry about equipment costs, air conditioning systems and room to install the system, as everything is stored in the supplier’s data center. Therefore, expenses are basically limited to the Internet package and the platform monthly fee, making the option cheaper in the long run.
